Weaning weight has a major influence on growth and feed efficiency of the life of a young pig from weaning to market. Body weight at weaning influences post-weaning feeding behavior and studies have shown there is a relationship of weaning weight to subsequent growth performance (Azain, et al).

There are many factors that influence a piglet’s weaning weight, yet often these factors are out of a farm manager’s control, such as genetics, birth weight, and sow milk production. There are now tools that are available to help farms increase weaning weight among piglets and Absolution Pg is one of them. Absolution Pg meets the enteric needs of the young piglet with the goal of increased weaning weights. Several in-house field studies have demonstrated weaning weight gains of 1 pound or more per piglet post-administration of Absolution Pg.

Absolution Pg is equine plasma from donors vaccinated against Clostridium difficile toxins A and B. Dosage recommendations are 2 ml per piglet administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously in the first few days of life. Store at 2-7º C (approx. 35-45º F).
